With system voltage of 800V, energy-dense lithium-ion round cells and innovative integration, the sixth-generation batteries offer increased energy storage and rapid charging capabilities. Thanks to the chassis architecture, these batteries are securely and compactly installed in the vehicle’s underbody.

Electric drive, intelligent control.

The BMW iX3 is powered by two specially designed 800V electric motors that feature sixth-generation eDrive technology. Positioned at the front and rear axles, these motors engage during accelerating and braking, precisely delivering the necessary power based on driving conditions. This intelligent all-wheel drive system enables dynamic, efficient driving, even on challenging terrain.

Automatically extending door handles.

Virtually invisible door handles sit flush with the body of the BMW iX3, which immediately detects your approach if you have your BMW Digital Key Plus on your smartphone or smartwatch. At a distance of approximately six feet, the door handles extend and light up in darkness.

Mount the available BMW roof rack on the available roof rails in your iX3 roof. A separately available roof box and other BMW accessories also offer additional storage space.

The power of simplicity.

The intelligent charging flap simplifies your vehicle’s recharging, opening automatically as soon as the iX3 detects your intent to charge. During the charging process, the flap closes slightly to protect the plug against inclement weather. Once the plug is removed, the charging flap closes automatically.

Parking View with 3D View and Panorama View displays a 360° view of your surroundings in the control display and makes it easier to monitor approaching traffic and maneuver in tight spaces. Images from multiple cameras around the vehicle are combined with 3D computer graphics to create a full spatial view of your vehicle - delivering unique perspectives on the screen for an even better overview when parking.

Highway & Commuting Assistant (term limited).

The Highway & Commuting Assistant enables attentive hands-free driving at speeds up to 85 mph where conditions and speed limits allow. This partially automated driving function also includes Active Lane Change, when the driver can confirm suggested lane changes simply by looking in the corresponding exterior side mirror. Driver attention is continuously monitored by the system via an interior camera, so the driver remains fully responsible for the task of driving and must always be able to take over should it become necessary. The Highway & Commuting Assistant is provided for the first 4 years after vehicle sale and can be renewed thereafter.
